Monet Enhances Lighting Designs with Clean, Artistic Style

SPI Lighting has released its newest Advent fixture. With a flash of style and a touch of class, Advent Monet makes an impression on an area with vibrant supplemental light, while vivid color gels and luminous borders complete an energetic design. Giving interiors and exteriors an artistic twist with distinctive motifs, Monet allows a consistent look to flow throughout an entire lighting design.

This sophisticated family offering presents a partially recycled aluminum housing and a recyclable polycarbonate lens, decreasing the environmental impact of a building. Energy-efficient lamp sources, used in combination with electronic ballasts and dimming options, reduce a lighting design's overall energy consumption – making Monet a great option for today's energy conscious designers. Efficient linear fluorescent options enable Monet to empower a space in a simple, elegant form.

This artistic luminaire family consists of interior ceiling mounts, pendants and wall sconces, as well as wet location wall mounts. Recessed sconces have the additional feature of standard 3/4" standoffs, which change the look by providing enhanced side illumination. Monet's well-rounded family offers options that will deliver the desired look to any project.

Armstrong® TechZone™ Ceiling System Compatibility
Monet's ceiling and pendant mounts are ideal to give a space functional decorative light and are a perfect fit in Armstrong® TechZone™ Ceiling Systems, assuring compatibility of form and finish in a single integrated ceiling system. The 2', 3' and 4' pendant and ceiling luminaires, both recessed and surface mounts, align with the dimensions of the 6-inch-wide linear "zones" of the TechZone™ System. The precise fit eases installation, while Monet's finish options and artistic motifs create a customized look, adding an interesting element to any design.

Energy Independence and Security Act Legislation Sets New Metal Halide Ballast Efficiency Standards

The Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 (EISA) was passed December 19, 2007. The EISA legislation updates the Energy Policy and Conservation Act with a goal reducing Americas dependence on oil. The legislation requires all new metal halide luminaires, installed in the United States after January 1, 2009, to contain ballasts that meet minimum efficiency requirements. The EISA legislation does not affect previously installed or replacement ballasts. See the official legislation for a complete list of exceptions.

There are many benefits to pulse start technology, such as producing more lumens per watt compared to traditional probe start, which enables lower wattage systems without sacrificing light levels.

SPI Lighting strives to continuously improve its product lines and is committed to minimizing its products negative/overall environmental impact. We are reconfiguring our online catalog to remove all metal halide products not meeting the required efficiencies.

In order to do this, all probe start luminaires, ranging from 175 to 400 watts, will be converted to pulse start lamp and ballast combinations.

By January 1, 2009, all products shipped in the U.S. will comply with all federal and state legislation. We recommend specifying EISA compliant ballasts to ensure no complications during the transition.
